The KC-10 is a gas station in the air! A military version of the Douglas DC-10, it is capable of carrying 356,000lbs of fuel extending the range of any aircraft that can perform aerial refueling. It went into service back in the 1980s and serves many countries to this day. This demo of aerial refueling was done for the crowds of EAA AirVenture in 2018. With a F-22 Raptor in tow, the KC-10 lowered its boom for a slow pass. Normally an operation that occurs thousands of feet overhead, it was cool to see it up close!
