Waco 9 captured by Z 8 / Z100-400f4.5-5.6 @300mm
We were at a flyin, a unique one as it celebrates old aircraft. How old, this Waco 9 is celebrating 100 years of flight! One would think that just getting a sharp image of it in flight would tell the story, and it does. I wanted to go a step further and enlist lights to help tell the “old” story. That got me to thinking what is “old” light and to my mind, it was a color as much as anything else. We know it as Sepia, that faded tanish color. I didn’t want to shoot in that mode so I kept scratching my head but luck would turn out to be on my side. The light had that “tanish” color, it’s wildfire smoke. I’d rather have it come from a much less destructive source, but it provided me that old time light.
