B-26 Marauder captured by D4 / 18-35AFS
There was a treasured period in my past when I spent a whole lot of time at Fantasy of Flight’s restoration dept. My dear friend Paul ran it providing me days and days and days of fun and learning digging literally through our aviation history. Tucked in the corner of one of the hangars is Kermit’s B-26 Marauder. A badass WWII medium bomber, this is one of the few examples still in existence. All the times we unpacked and packed the hangar, I would hope it would go out on the ramp so I could photograph it. It never happened. Then one time I brought a group from PSW to shoot at Fantasy of Flight and there on the ramp was the B-26. Paul being Paul, he knew my thing for backgrounds so he parked the B-26 with the worst possible background. Why don’t you see it here? I spend one long evening removing it in post using the “old” methods. It was worth all the time when I shared with them the 24×30 prints and they saw the B-26 with the same awe I had with the ramp surprise!
