There is a moment of calm just before CLEAR comes calling from the cockpit. It’s a great reminder for the photographer to check all the elements around their subject. On a busy, active ramp it means watching for other planes taxing by. It means looking for elements in the background that can take the eye away from the subject. It means to look at the plane itself, are you at the right altitude to show off its flight surfaces, and the right lens to tell its story. It’s a simple word you might say every time you go click. CLEAR!
