Grumman Mallard captured by D6 / 180-400VR

Let’s start with, standing on the taxiway of any airport is not only not tolerated, it can be downright dangerous! With permission or working on remote fields, it can be done safely and is a whole lot of fun! I know the pilot of the Mallard coming my way very well, and have flown with him many times, leaving me no safety concerns. He has worked with me, so my standing on the taxiway right in front of him didn’t concern him for a second. The problem was that he knew I was photographing him taxing right down the yellow line. That’s not as easy as you might think, especially with a plane the size of a Mallard. He told me after he parked, I was making him very nervous. He knew the photo would get around and he had to nail that yellow line or his friends would riddle him to no end. As you can see, he nailed it so he could share the photo with pride. It’s then I learned how to make a pilot nervous!
