FM-2P Wildcat captured by D4s / 80-400VR

The aerial battles in the Pacific were a big part of WWII. Telling that story today requires putting the viewer, you, in that cockpit so your imagination can start imparting that story. Them big clouds in the background help set the stage for that story. Those thunderheads though can take plans like the Wildcat and the T6 I’m in and slam them on the ground in a heartbeat. That wouldn’t be good so you need to stay clear of them when flying. Incorporating them in a photograph simply requires a long lens. “Compacting” the photo permits you to stay away from the clouds yet still incorporate them. And when you have clouds like these, you want them in your photograph!
