C-5 Galaxy captured by Z 9 / Z600f4TC w/Z2x @1200mm
I didn’t know it, but I was working in the flight path for Dover AFB. I was on a marsh surrounded by thousands of shorebirds, shooting like a madman. It was heaven! I heard jets overhead, but I was so focused on all the birds at point-blank range, I didn’t look up. Until, a C-5 flew in one ear and out the other! Then I took notice, especially when I saw the character in the clouds. The thing was, I didn’t have any “short” lens to photograph them overhead, I just had the Z600f4TC, and I had totally lost sight that I had the Z2x on. As it turned out, the long glass worked as it permitted the clouds to be more impactful. After that pass, the skies above grew quiet, so I went back to the shorebirds at hand. It was a really cool moment though, as that was a real big bird!
