P-51D “Orphan Girl” & DC-3 “Miss Montana” captured by Z 9 / Z180-600
Plane portraits are a fun challenge. Getting a “couple” is a heck of a challenge in most instances, especially in a flyin / airshow arena with all the people that mingle about. When you have two beauties like we had this past weekend at the BTM Wings & Wheels, you start solving the problems to make the click. Yes, you can use the “Remove Ppl” in post for sure. I like to use a slightly different tack. It starts with shooting with a long lens, this compacts the scene “sucking” up the space between the aircraft with focal length. Next, I wait until either one, the event is closing for that day when folks disappear, or as in this case, when the crowd is cleared away so the planes can launch. It just takes a little time either way and is well worth it. That’s because two are better than one.
