P-63 King Cobra captured by Z 9 / Z180-600
Bringing the motion of flight to our stills is a big part of our visual storytelling in aviation. Prop blur is what normally comes to mind of an aviation photographer when you talk about blur. Rightfully so, it’s a huge challenge as it requires slower shutter speeds, and that brings up other sharpness issues. But that’s not the blur I desired here. Na, it’s the background that is way too sharp. No matter how slow the shutter speed might be, the Cobra was too far from the background and I was too far from the Cobra. That combination makes too much of the background in focus. Dang, if only more blur!
