B-25J “God and Country” captured by D5 / 70-200f4

When it comes to aircraft, my favorite element to put with them in the frame to tell their story are clouds. When doing an A2A, this is not as easy as it might seem. When flying, there are many “rules” that mainly pertain to safety. When you can’t see another plane because it is hidden in the clouds, obviously, that’s not safe. Launching into clouds or descending into them, the same logic applies. When you’re doing an A2A, you are a two ship formation, you have to see each other. It’s that simple. Another issue is that clouds are normally pretty high, higher than the 5000-foot AGL we normally do A2A missions. It’s for those two reasons my desire for clouds goes unanswered. When we do find a hole and can safely climb through it, I’m a happy camper cause we’re getting above the clouds.
