TBM Avenger captured by D3x / 70-200f2.8
The TBM Avenger was a torpedo / bomber of WWII. This was the first one I was fortunate enough to spend a bunch of time with. After a couple of A2A photo missions and static shoots, we came up with the idea you see here. This was back in 2010. With the help of the airport fire dept, we made it happen. The fire engine provided all the water and light. There is no real technique to this photo, it’s just a bunch of light thrown at a cool aircraft with its prop turning. It’s not how I do it now though. I’ve been doing some more lately but the first was very special, it was too much fun.
