AT-6a Texan captured by Z 9 / Z180-600

We’d been with the AT-6a earlier that day while it was parked on the ramp. It was now after dinner, the air was warm, and the breeze was lofting in the smell of freshly cut grass to the back of the hangar where we sat. We’d put a dent in the Rabbit Hole and were having fun telling stories. Life was good, and we were all comfortable. Then off in the distance we heard the distinctive sound of a round engine, and it was winding up to make a pass. Once it had gone by, I knew by the sound as I couldn’t see the sky from the back of the hangar, it was a warbird. Folks had gotten up and gone out to see the first pass; I hadn’t. I was quite comfortable. I was about to blow it off as most aircraft make one pass to say hello and keep on going. From the sound of the engine, I knew it was going to make another pass. Out I went, as I knew I would regret not going out. The gorgeous AT-6a made a couple of passes, which produced not only some good clicks, but ….. to be talked about later. I knew better; I’ve not gotten up in the past only to come to regret it. That’s why my inner voice screamed, get off your butt!
